Muscat, the capital city, offers culture, elegance and world-class hotels. Take a trip to the opulent Opera House or walk the historical souks. The Sultan's Palace is renowned as one of the best architectural designs in the region. The city is low rise with limits on the height of buildings but look inland from the coast to see the stunning impact of the mountains which rise high above the city and provide a wonderful driving experience as you climb up past wadis to take in some amazing sights.
